Single Screw Extruder for Plastic Processing

Plastic Processing Auxiliary Equipment

Single Screw Extruder for Plastic Processing

URIDGE single screw extruders process PE, PP, PVC, ABS, PA, PET and PC, with 20–220 mm screws and configurations for pelletizing and extrusion lines.

  • Turnkey design & installation
  • ISO9001 / CE certified
  • 24/7 global after-sales support

Product Overview

The URIDGE Single Screw Extruder for Plastic Processing is a configurable single-screw extrusion platform. It can be supplied as a standalone machine or integrated as the main extruder of a complete pelletizing, pipe, sheet or profile line.

Because different materials and final products require different screw geometry, L/D ratio, feeding, degassing, motor and processing configuration, each extruder is configured according to the application rather than supplied as one fixed machine for every use.

Applications

  • Plastic pelletizing
  • Pipe extrusion
  • Sheet extrusion
  • Profile extrusion
  • Standalone extrusion applications

Material Compatibility

The extruder can be configured for thermoplastics including PE, PP, PVC, ABS, PA, PET and PC, and other suitable thermoplastic materials.

Screw Design for Different Materials

Screw geometry is selected according to the polymer, formulation and final product. Different materials do not all use the same screw design.

L/D Configuration

The series covers L/D ratios from 8:1 to 44:1, with 30:1 and 33:1 as common configurations. The L/D ratio is chosen according to the material and processing requirement.

Screw & Barrel Materials

The standard screw and barrel are made from 38CrMoAlA. Alloy screw options are available according to the material and processing requirements.

Heating and Fan Cooling

Heating options include ceramic, infrared, stainless-steel and cast-aluminum heaters, with fan cooling for barrel temperature control.

Feeding Options

Feeding can use a single-screw feeder or a twin-screw feeder according to the material form. The twin-screw option refers to the feeder, not to the main extruder, which remains a single-screw machine.

Optional Vacuum Degassing

Vacuum degassing is available as an option according to the material and process requirement.

Siemens PLC / HMI and VFD Control

The extruder uses Siemens PLC and HMI control with variable-frequency drive for adjustable operating speed.
